IMPORTANT: If your only knowledge of working on your bike is putting gas into it and you are not doing the work yourself,  please check with your dealer on his views on installing parts you did not purchase from him.  There is no doubt dealers are out to make money one way or the other.  And many don't like you spending money somewhere else and will unfortunately find one thing after another to sway you against taking money out of their pockets.  Come on, how would you feel if you were loosing money in sales department and your customers were just using you to install other people's parts.  Wouldn't you want your service department to also promote your parts department?

We have heard it all when it comes to why your dealer/mechanic cannot install our parts yet the dealers we sell to have no problems installing them. Go figure!  So either work on you own scooter or forget about saving money because if the mechanic wants it, he'll get it.  And no, we will not take returns because your dealer can find some reason not to install it. If you value your mechanic's word then purchase his products and forget about the cost!  After all, if he's that great you wouldn't be looking on the internet for parts.  After all, he must be looking out for your best interest which would include your budget.  Right?

Words of wisdom from an HD dealer:
I don't understand it. Maybe because none of these people you talk about have ever tried to install anything custom.  On the other hand, I used to build bikes from ground up with all aftermarket and custom parts and what I have learned and tell all my mechanics is the "C" in Custom stands for "Cut and Craft".  You have to be smarter than what your working on I guess.  I feel the whole problem is most H-D stores are forced to sell and push H-D products only.  Not us.  We install everything from Ness to Chrome That Hog.  We have had 1 rotor fitment problem on your Fatboy wheels but like I said before, "You must be smarter than what you are working on",  and we fixed it no more problem.  Well if there is any thing i can do to help with these problems let me know.  I have mentioned a few problems we have had and also offered a solution and you guys have fixed them and corrected the problems.  What else can anyone ask for?
Thanks again.
